Nansledan includes a live/work quarter of around 30 live/work units and a proposed central workhub offering shared services and communal spaces. The aim is to provide buildings that are designed from the outset to combine the workplace and home, and to demonstrate how home-based enterprise can contribute to a low-carbon economy through the sustainable use of buildings and a reduced need for travel.
Fostering home-based businesses is an important part of Nansledan’s sustainable ethos and provides a significant opportunity to diversify and strengthen the local economy.
“Nansledan is blazing a trail for home-based enterprise by establishing Cornwall’s largest communal workhub. Working from home is becoming increasingly popular especially given the growth in technology and digital infrastructure, and is a highly sustainable way to do business” – Tim Dwelly, director of the Live/Work Network
