Nansledan residents and their pets will soon have access to a community veterinary service with the launch of ‘Nanslandy Vets’, a brand new pop-up clinic provided by Edhen Veterinary Surgery in Porth and supported by the Duchy of Cornwall.

The Land Rover-based service – which inspired the Nanslandy name – is launching on Monday 15th July and will initially run a pop-up clinic during the week at Kew An Lergh (below Sabzi café), starting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons, as well as Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

The pop-up clinics will offer a wide range of services including clinical examinations, vaccinations, clipping claws and dental check-ups.

There will also be home visits aimed mainly at feline friends who can become stressed if transported by car, and for any other situations where a home visit is preferable. This includes the collection or return of animals needing to visit the surgery in Porth.

The new service is being supported by the Duchy of Cornwall, which is developing Nansledan.

Rachel Simmons, Director at Edhen Vets, which also has a surgery in Truro, said: “We’re very excited to be bringing our mobile pop-up service and home visits to the residents of Nansledan. We’ll be operating from Nanslandy, our classic Range Rover Defender, and we can’t wait to meet the community, whether on two legs or four!”

Sam Kirkness, Development Manager for the Duchy of Cornwall, said: “This is a great addition to the growing range of services available to the Nansledan community and we’re delighted to be supporting this new venture. Nanslandy is set to become a regular visitor to the community, and we hope it proves popular with owners and pets alike.”
