Market Street

Market Street will be the beating heart of Nansledan’s blossoming community and will be one of the first high streets to have been built in this way for over 100 years. The focus for Market Street will be on commercial premises that encourage local artisans and businesses with their own unique character, focusing on leisure, health and wellbeing and the creation of community spaces that encourage social activity and vibrancy.

The Masterplan

The overall masterplan for Market Street includes a mix of residential homes, retail spaces, pubs/bars/cafes/restaurants, flexible food and retail spaces, amenity and leisure spaces for health and wellbeing, offices (including a flexible/co-working space), play areas and green space.

Through its design and curation, it is intended that the spaces will come together to create a vibrant daytime and night-time economy, for both residents and visitors.

Units will range from start-up spaces of around 250 sq ft to larger units of up to 4,000 sq ft, built to the highest quality and sustainability standards, and will be offered under a range of lease structures.

Below is the latest draft masterplan for Market Street, which will continue to change and evolve as plans develop and the project progresses (so is illustrative only)

Newquay Strategic Route (NSR)

The Newquay Strategic Route (NSR) is a new significant transport link that will serve Nansledan and the wider area. Being delivered by Cornwall Council, construction commenced in early 2023 and the road is expected to be open to traffic by the autumn of 2024.

This new road is expected to improve traffic flow in the area, provide new footways and cycleways for pedestrians and cyclists and improve overall journey times for residents and visitors in Nansledan and the surrounding villages and towns. It will also include a regular and sustainable bus service.

For local businesses, it was previously estimated that the NSR would host approximately 15,000 daily vehicle movements, averaged across the year.
