Transport
Nansledan is designed to be well-served by public transport and will include bus, cycle and pedestrian routes to Newquay and nearby villages. The Newquay railway branch line and Newquay Airport are also nearby, providing further links across the region and further afield.
Nansledan’s transport links
Nansledan is just two miles from Newquay town centre and is already accessible by public transport, but these links will continue to improve over time.
There is a train station in Newquay with connections to the main line and a bus station providing local and national links.
The A30 dual carriageway and Newquay Airport are both just 10 minutes away by car.
Newquay Strategic Route (NSR)
The Newquay Strategic Route (NSR) is a new significant transport link that will serve Nansledan and the wider area. Being delivered by Cornwall Council, construction commenced in early 2023 and the road is expected to be open to traffic by the autumn of 2024.
This new road is expected to improve traffic flow in the area, provide new footways and cycleways for pedestrians and cyclists and improve overall journey times for residents and visitors in Nansledan and the surrounding villages and towns. It will also include a regular and sustainable bus service.
For local businesses, it was previously estimated that the NSR would host approximately 15,000 daily vehicle movements, averaged across the year.

Trains
Nansledan is just two miles from Newquay train station. Newquay is less than 50 minutes from the main line at Par near St Austell, which offers connections to London or further west into Cornwall.
Buses
Newquay bus station is just west of the town centre on Manor Road. There are two main bus operators, Go Cornwall Bus and First Kernow. Both operate regular services from Newquay to Nansledan, with the fastest connection taking just seven minutes. National Express and Megabus coach services also operate from Newquay bus station.
In future, bus routes will go through the centre of Nansledan, via its upcoming High Street (“Market Street”), providing links to Newquay Sports Centre and Newquay Community Orchard as well.

Newquay Airport is just 10 minutes north of Nansledan by car. There are regular flights to London Gatwick (including day returns), London Heathrow, Aberdeen, Alicante, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Edinburgh, Faro, Glasgow, Humberside, Isles of Scilly, Manchester, Newcastle, Teeside and Zurich.
